The right candle wick is a crucial component for making your own candles. The cotton wick is particularly suitable for use in candle molds. For this purpose, the required length of wick is cut and secured in the mold. Depending on the shape, the wick is knotted at one or both ends of the mold. An unwaxed wick is suitable for this, as waxed wicks are rigid and cannot be knotted. The matching metal wick holders are attached to the lower end of the wicks. To do this, the wick is guided through the small hole in the wick holder and clamped into the wick holder with pliers. The wick holder ensures greater stability and is particularly suitable for use in candle jars or similar containers.

For easy application, the wick is first fixed centrally at the bottom of the container with a few drops of wax under the wick holder, then aligned vertically. The container is then filled with wax. The candle wicks burn evenly without excessive soot development. They also have the advantage that the wicks can be burned from either direction. This eliminates the need to pay attention to the burning direction when inserting the wicks.
